Matty Griffiths is a local lad who alongside playing for The Miners also played for Kinmel Bay, Prestatyn Town and Trefnant, since his Senior debut back in 2013, Griffo is the only player in the club to have scored over 100 goals in his footballing joruney.

Griffo started his 3rd stint with Meliden back in October 2021 in the 3-0 home win to Llandyrnog and scored his first goal of the current stint in the 4-1 home win to Llansannan, Griffo is one of the rare players to play in all kinds of positions, whether it be Attacking, Creating or Defending, Griffo excells where he can.
